The corona virus that appeared in Wuhan, China in December 2019 caused great damage and losses worldwide until 2021. The virus that emerged in 2019 spread little by little with genetic strains.

When it is transmitted from one person to another, small changes occur in its cells. When there is some obvious change, it is identified as a new strain of virus. Thus, different strains of corona virus, alpha, beta, gamma, omicron were detected.

Tens of thousands of people were affected and lost their lives due to this strain found in India and Africa. Although vaccinations and controls have reduced the incidence of the disease, now a new variant of the virus called BF.7 is spreading rapidly in China.

Usually the variant strains of a virus cause more damage than the original. Accordingly, it is more virulent than previously identified omicrons.

Although it is a sub-variant of the Omicron strain BA.5, no vaccine found so far will prevent the virus, researchers said. The vaccines we use today only protect against the BA.5 variant strain at most. So don’t think that I am vaccinated so I won’t get corona again.

The BF.7 variant has the ability to spread much faster than any previous strain. In addition, within a short period of time in the human body, the virus can spread and the symptoms of the disease appear. So far, symptoms of infection have taken up to 14 days. But it takes much less time. In addition, the BF.7 variant is 4.4 times more infectious than the original Wuhan virus. Symptoms of the Omicron BF.7 variant include fever, sore throat, runny nose and cough. The world is once again forced to increase restrictions even though the chances of a pandemic are low.
