Education Minister V Sivankutty has sent a letter to the Maharashtra Chief Minister demanding a detailed inquiry into the death of ten-year-old Nida Fatima, who had come to cycle polo championship. A letter has been sent to Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde asking for an investigation. Also Nida Fatima did not get better medical care and it has also been demanded to be investigated. It has also been informed in the letter that all necessary cooperation for the investigation will be provided by the Kerala government. Alappuzha MP AM Arif had said that Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur had assured that there would be a detailed investigation into the incident.

An urgent motion was notified in the Lok Sabha demanding an inquiry into the death of Nida Fatima. Left MP AM Arif and Benny Bahnan issued the notice in the Lok Sabha. But this was not allowed. The Kerala Cycle Polo Association is planning to approach the High Court over the incident. The Kerala Association has informed the court that despite reaching the court order, the organizers have not provided any facilities including accommodation and food. Nida Fatima, a native of Alappuzha, died due to food poisoning.

The group, including Nida Fatima, who had come to Nagpur for the cycle polo championship, had no accommodation and food facilities, so the children were staying in a temporary center. There were protests against this. Meanwhile, Shihab, father of deceased ten-year-old Nida Fatima, reached Nagpur by night. Efforts are being made to bring the body home today after the post-mortem process is completed.

It is alleged that Malayalee player Nida Fatima took her life in Nagpur during a match between the Kerala Cycle Polo Association and the Cycle Polo Federation of India. It is also alleged that the National Federation did not provide accommodation and food for the players as it was not approved by the National Federation.
