Weather: Savoie and Haute-Savoie on orange vigilance for rain and floods

by time news

It will rain a lot in the coming hours and into the night from Saturday to Sunday on the relief of the Vosges, the Jura, and the Northern Alps, and in particular on Savoie and Haute-Savoie, indicates Météo France, which has placed these two departments on orange alert.

The forecaster warns of a “rapid westerly flow in which a disturbance undulates giving significant accumulations of rain on the western slopes of the Northern Alps, and the Jura and the Vosges to a lesser extent”.

After a slight drop in intensity this Friday morning, a new burst of more sustained rain is currently located in the Centre-Val-de-Loire and is heading towards the eastern side of the country. Notably, 25 to 50 mm of precipitation has already fallen on the Savoy mountains since Thursday evening with a rain/snow limit around 2300 m.
