Roskomnadzor will check reports about data leakage of Citymobil drivers. This was reported by the city news agency “Moscow” with reference to the department.

“Roskomnadzor will check information about a possible leak of personal data in the Citymobil company,” the report says.

Earlier today, reports appeared on the network that over 4,000 photos of the passports of Citymobil taxi drivers got into the public domain. Later, a company representative confirmed the fact of the leak to Vedomosti. Citymobil launched an internal investigation.

The company noted that they take responsibility for what happened. The interlocutor of Vedomosti added that the company is preparing to notify Roskomnadzor of the leak.

Roskomnadzor recalled that, by law, a company must notify the department of a data leak within 24 hours. So far, as of 15.00, no such information has been received from Citymobil, the department clarified.

According to Data1eaks, the leak became possible due to the fact that the photos of the taxi drivers’ documents were in the public domain on the server, the path to which belongs to the city-mobil.ru domain zone. After the leak became known, access to the storage was closed by the company, said Ashot Hovhannisyan, founder of the DLBI data leak intelligence and darknet monitoring service.
