Noorderhart Revalidation & MS starts group rehabilitation for people with Parkinson’s

by time news

People with Parkinson’s are welcome together with their informal carer from 10 January 2023 in Noorderhart Revalidation & MS in Pelt. They are starting a group rehabilitation program. “Parkinson’s disease has an impact on several aspects of daily life,” says doctor Griet Gysemberg. “We want to provide more information about all facets of Parkinson’s disease, encourage them to move more and help them acquire knowledge about aids in daily life. Informing them about legislation is also important.”

The program consists of 12 sessions of 2.5 hours in which a theory session is linked to a movement session. Several therapists from the rehabilitation center will give those sessions next year. “Each therapist in our team has built up expertise by working experientially and by following specific training courses,” it sounds.

The program is offered 3 times a year. The group consists of a maximum of 8 people with Parkinson’s disease. Anyone wishing to participate can contact the medical secretariat on 011 809 112.
