The managing director of Elias Farbglashütte in Lauscha, Thuringia, bought a smaller kiln. The fact that the large existing one had to be routinely overhauled made the decision easier for her. Now the glass is liquefied in a 300 liter tank, not in a tank twice that size. This consumes less energy, also because the heating-up phase is significantly shorter.
