Tnpsc Group 4 Exam results Latest News Updates: There are reports that the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission is planning to revise the number declared in the Group 4 exam. So, here we will look at the procedures followed when the number of notified vacancies is revised.
What are the notified vacancies?
274 vacancies were announced under the post of Village Administrative Officer, 6,864 posts under Group 4 level post and 163 posts under the below posts in various boards. So, the total number of vacancies is 7301.
Number of new vacancies?
Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission has not yet released the official notification regarding new vacancies. However, sources said that TNPSC has embarked on steps to recruit additional posts.

Why the current amendment?
TNPSC conducts competitive examinations and selects suitable candidates for various departments of Tamil Nadu Government. Group 4 exam notification for the year 2022 was published on 30th March. Therefore, 7301 seats were declared based on the then estimate. As five months have passed since the written exam, the need for additional posts may have arisen.
Also, according to the schedule of competitive examinations for the year 2023 published by TNPSC, the notification for the Group-IV examination will be published in the month of November 2023 and the examination will be held in the year 2024. Therefore, it is also said that TNPSC may have decided to increase Group 4 posts by considering such various administrative situations.

What are the procedures followed while augmenting posts?
As per Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission guidelines, the notified vacancies are subject to change subject to certain conditions.
As Group 4 posts are appointed on the basis of single level written test, TNPSC will issue the notification regarding the increase of vacancies before the results of the written test are released/ called for the interview (counseling).
Chances of winning?
On the basis of written examination, twice the number of vacancies notified in each reservation category will be admitted for original certificate and interview.

Therefore, if the vacancies are increased before the release of the written test results, the number of candidates called for the source certificate and interview test may also increase. As the number of vacancies increases, the cut off marks will start decreasing. Hence, it will be a good opportunity for those candidates who are currently marginal in cut-off marks.
