Nearly 250 million people in China may have contracted Covid-19 in the first 20 days of December, according to an internal estimate by the nation’s health officials. This was reported by CNN, which “cannot independently confirm the figures”, but – comments – “if this were the case, it would represent about 18% of 1.4 billion people in China and would represent the largest outbreak of Covid-19 to date globally”.
