Thiruvananthapuram: A notorious thief who steals from five-star hotels has been arrested. Vincent Johny (63), a native of Tamil Nadu, was arrested by the Thiruvananthapuram Cantonment Police from Kollam. He was arrested in the case of theft of a laptop from a five-star hotel in Thiruvananthapuram. The police said that there are about 200 cases against him in different parts of the country and his method is to stay in five-star hotels and pass off with laptops and other things.

A laptop was stolen from a hotel in Thiruvananthapuram last day. Then the hotel authorities lodged a complaint with the Cantonment Police. When the police checked the CCTV footage of the hotel, they identified the notorious thief Vincent as the one behind the theft. Then, with the help of cyber cell, his mobile tower location was followed and he was caught from Kollam railway station.

Vincent, who knows English well, gets rooms in five-star hotels by introducing himself as a businessman. He takes over the staff with his eloquence and says that the room rent and food bill can be paid the day the room is vacated.
