The smartphone market is gaining momentum just before the end of the year after a rather quiet month of November. Several new releases have been released in the Chinese and Indian markets since the beginning of December. This covers anything from very low-cost devices to flagship models. In this article, we are discussing some of the latest smartphone releases that happened in the past week. The list contains products from OEMs such as Samsung, Vivo, Infinix, and Lava. Let’s take a look at each phone released this month.

Samsung Galaxy A04

The Galaxy A04 is one of the many products Samsung announced before the end of the year. A budget smartphone at its core, the Galaxy A04 features a 6.5-inch LCD panel with HD+ resolution. The phone is powered by the MediaTek Helio P35 and has up to 4GB of RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage. On the optics front, the Galaxy A04 gets a dual camera setup on the back with a 50MP main sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. A 5MP sensor on the phone handles selfies. Other features of the Galaxy A04 include a 5000mAh battery, OneUI 4.1 custom skin based on Android 12, 4G, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS + GLONASS.

Samsung also unveiled the Galaxy A04e, which is a smaller version of the Galaxy A04. In addition, this model has a 6.5-inch LCD screen with HD + resolution and a refresh rate of 60Hz. The MediaTek Helio P35 chipset powers the Galaxy A04e, which is offered in a variety of volumes and has up to 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. About the cameras, the device has a 13MP rear camera, a 2MP depth camera, and an LED flash. For selfies and video calls, a 5MP sensor is used on the front. Galaxy A04e houses a 5,000mAh battery, runs Android 12 out of the box with custom OneUI 4.1 installed on top, and has similar specifications to the standard Galaxy A04 model overall.

The new S16 series, which is likely to be launched in India sometime next year under the ‘V’ series, was launched by Vivo this week in the Chinese market. Vivo S16 features a 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel with Full HD+ resolution, HDR10+, and up to 120Hz refresh rate. The phone packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor, up to 12GB of RAM, and 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage out of the box. On the back of the S16 are three cameras: a 64MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 2MP macro camera. For selfies and video calls, there is a 50MP sensor on the front. Other specs on the S16 include a 4,600mAh battery with 66W fast charging support, stereo speakers, HD audio, 5G SA/NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6, and Android 13. With the OriginOS theme from Vivo on top.

Apart from a few minor differences, the regular Vivo S16 Pro and S16 models are pretty much identical. The S16 Pro also has a 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel with Full HD+ resolution, HDR10+, and up to 120Hz refresh rate. Vivo S16 Pro has a triple camera setup with a 50MP Sony IMX766V primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 2MP macro sensor on the back. The 50MP camera on the phone is used to take selfies. Other specs on the S16 Pro include a 4,600mAh battery with 66W fast charging support, stereo speakers, HD audio, 5G, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6, and Android 13 with a skin. There is a 60MP sensor on the front with OIS for selfies and video chats. The Lava X3 comes with a 6.5-inch HD display with a waterdrop notch at the top for the selfie camera. It is powered by the MediaTek Helio A22 SoC and comes paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. For cameras, the X3 has an 8MP main sensor on the back along with a secondary VGA sensor. On the other hand, a 5MP sensor is used to take selfies. The phone is powered by a 4,000mAh battery, with support for 10W charging, and it runs Android 12 Go Edition out of the box.
