Adva Al Arefi is the new Minister of State for Sports in Saudi Arabia

Riyadh – Adva Al-Arifi, who played a significant role in the development of women’s sports in Saudi Arabia, has been appointed as the new Minister of State for Sports in Saudi Arabia. Amir Abdul Aziz bin Turki Al Faisal, Minister of Sports, was appointed as the Minister of State. He is a member of the Saudi Olympic Council, Football Federation and Under Secretary for Planning and Development in the Ministry of Sports. Arifi is a graduate of Business Administration from Riyadh Al Yamama University.

Al-Arifi, who has demonstrated extensive talent and expertise in ‘community sports’, has been instrumental in the development of women’s sports in the country. She used to watch various sports matches enthusiastically from a young age and showed great interest in football. In 2019, Al Arefi joined the Ministry of Sports as the Investment Director. Then the Saudi Olympic Committee nominated Al Arefi as a member of the Olympic Council.

In the same year, Al Arefi joined the Football Association. She worked as a member of the Social Responsibility Committee of the Football Federation and was later elected as the Chairperson of the same committee.
