California: Search for 5 women who entered a neighborhood grocery store – and stole a safe with thousands of dollars

In a theft captured on security cameras, three women distracted the employees while the remaining two crept into the employees’ room and loaded the heavy safe into a shopping cart

Orange City Police are looking for a group of five women who were recorded last week stealing $9,000 from a grocery store safe.

The incident took place on December 17th around 11:00 am, at a family business in the city of Orange, about 30 miles southeast of downtown Los Angeles.

So, five women entered the grocery store in what appeared to be a pre-planned robbery. Some of them distracted the employees in the store, while two others sneaked into the back room of the grocery store, took the safe weighing about 35 kg, and put it inside a shopping cart.

The women can then be seen calmly walking out of the grocery store with a lost blanket covering the safe, which reportedly contained more than $9,000.

“It’s heartbreaking, especially this holiday season. I hope these women are caught, jailed and held, and that they answer for the criminal crimes they committed,” said Police Chief Dan Adams, appealing to the public for information on those women.
