It has been decided in the study meeting conducted by Ministers Periyakaruppan and Chakrapani that the Chief Minister will launch the Pongal gift package on January 5 instead of January 2.
In a press conference, Minister Periyagaruppan said that the tokens will be distributed on December 30, 31 and January 02, 03, 04 and there will be no token distribution on New Year’s day, January 1.
He said that it has been decided to issue tokens to 300 card holders per day in urban areas and 200 cards per day in rural areas, and it has been decided to give priority to the elderly and disabled.
Also, while it had already been announced that the Pongal gift package will be given from January 2, instead of the coming January 2, the Chief Minister has said that he is going to start it on January 5.
