Today, Tuesday, the Chinese company, Xiaomi, held a major event for its Redmi brand, as it launched a group of new products.
Among the most prominent products presented by Xiaomi, came the Redmi K60 series of phones, which consisted of 3 new phones, the flagship Redmi K60 Pro with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor.
The second phone is Redmi K60 with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, and another feature phone called Redmi K60E, powered by the new Dimensity 8200 chipset.
Redmi K60 Pro price and specifications
The top-tier Redmi K60 Pro comes with a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a so-called 2K resolution, which is the intermediate step between QHD and Full HD, or simply 3200 x 1440 pixels.
According to promotional images, its brightness can reach 1,400 nits, and there is a single hole in the middle for a 16MP selfie camera.
The panel supports a 120Hz refresh rate, 480Hz touch sampling rate, HDR10+, and there’s a fingerprint scanner under the screen.
Redmi introduced Auto Brightness 2.0, an algorithm that learns over time about how the device is used, and provides the required brightness for each operation as desired by the user.
The phone comes with a 50MP main camera with a Sony IMX800 sensor behind it, OIS, and EIS.
The other two cameras, an 8-megapixel one and a 2-megapixel macro sensor.
Xiaomi has its own Surge P1 charging chip, implemented in the Redmi K60 Pro, the chip takes care of power distribution for the 5,000mAh camera and makes sure that the 120W fast charging protects the phone as it fills it from 0 to 100% in 19 minutes.
One of the main improvements is wireless charging, it is 30W, Redmi has also provided a dedicated charging pad that supports the same speed, and the phone also provides a VC cooling solution with a total surface area of 5,000 square mm.
Redmi K60 Pro has four colors: green, white, black, and gray.
Pricing starts at CNY 3,299 ($475 / €455) for the 8/128 GB memory version and goes up to CNY 4,599 ($660 / €620) if the user decides to switch to the 16/512 GB option. Sales will start on December 31 December on the Xiaomi China website.
Redmi K60 price and specifications
Redmi K60 looks no different from its Pro sibling, sporting a 6.67-inch 1440p AMOLED display, 3 cameras, and a 5,000 square mm cooling solution with vapor chamber.
The design on the back is also the same, but the camera is 64 MP with OIS, with an 8 MP camera and a 2 MP macro sensor, and the front has a 16 MP camera.
Just like the Pro, the Redmi K60 also includes 30W wireless charging, however, wired fast charging has been reduced to 67W, making room for 10% more capacity, and the battery is now 5,500mAh.
Redmi K60 is available in four colors, white, green, blue and black with carbon details on the sides.
Pricing starts at CNY 2,499 ($360 / €335) for the 128/8GB and can go up to CNY3,599 ($515/€485) for the most powerful 16/512GB version.
Just like the Pro, the Redmi K60 is also launched on December 31 at Xiaomi’s online store in China, according to gsmarena.
Redmi K60E price and specifications
Redmi K60E is the first flagship K series phone with the letter E at the end. Xiaomi did not reveal the reason behind the letter, but it is definitely a functional smartphone.
The phone comes with a Mediatek chipset and a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 1440p, as in the other two Redmi K60 phones.
The difference here is that it’s “only” 1,200 nits of brightness and 10-bit, instead of 12-bit, and it also comes with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection on top.
The main camera on the back also has OIS but this time it comes with a 48MP sensor.
The phone has an 8MP camera and two 2MP macro sensors.
The Redmi K60E’s battery is the same as the Redmi K60’s, it’s 5,500mAh with 67W fast charging but no wireless charging.
The Redmi K60E will be sold in white, black and green colors, with prices starting at CNY 2,199 ($315/€295) for 8/128 GB.
