Karachi: New Zealand strike back in the first cricket test against Pakistan. Responding to the hosts’ first innings score of 438 runs, the Kiwis scored 165 runs without the loss of a wicket at the end of the second day yesterday. New Zealand need 273 more runs to match Pakistan’s first innings score. Openers Tom Latham (78) and Devon Conway (82) are at the crease.
Yesterday, Pakistan resumed batting in the first innings at 317 for five wickets and were bowled out for 438 runs. Captain Babar Azam returned without adding a single run to the previous score (161). Agha Salman’s century (103), who was at the crease with three runs, took Pakistan past four hundred. Sarfaraz Ahmed scored 86 runs.
