Kochi: The High Court quashed the action of the Central Film Censor Board Chairman, who sent the film ‘Puzha Todi Puzha Vaki’ directed by Ali Akbar (Ramasimhan) based on the Malabar riots to the re-examination committee for the second time. The review committee that first saw the film recommended that the film be allowed to be screened with seven changes. But the chairman was not satisfied with this and left the film again for consideration by the new re-examination committee. This was questioned in the court.

Secondly, it was pointed out that the chairman does not have the authority to leave it for the consideration of another committee.

The first recommendation is to be accepted or in case of disagreement, the matter is referred to the Board for consideration. It was also pointed out that it is up to the board to decide whether another committee should watch the film again.

The Examining Committee, which saw the film ‘Puzha Todi Puzha Vaki’ for the first time, took the stand that it should not be allowed to be screened.

Disagreeing with this, it was left to the review committee. This committee consisted of eight members. Five of them recommended that the film be allowed to be screened with seven changes.

It was rejected and sent for examination by a new committee. It was also pointed out that if there was a historical scholar in the first committee, there was no such expert in the second committee. The second committee proposed 12 changes. It was also pointed out that this will affect the film itself.
