In the afternoon, a detective team that was on proactive activity near the Bir Zeit bridge noticed a suspect needed by the police, suspected of involvement in vehicle thefts in the Ariel and Binyamin area.
The detective team made a roadblock near the Halamish settlement, with the aim of blocking the suspect’s vehicle. When the suspect recognized the obstruction, he stopped on the side of the road in order to make a U-turn, then another detective car arrived at the scene and told him to stop. The suspect began to escape, while driving against the direction of traffic and endangering road users, until he was stopped at a roadblock.
The police detectives unloaded the car in order to arrest him and at this point the suspect started driving while colliding with the vehicles that were blocking the road, until he was stopped.
When the vehicle was stopped, the suspect was arrested by the detectives, while the suspect resisted the arrest and the detectives had to use force to complete his arrest. A knife was found in the suspect’s car.
