“I will come back to play”: where did Igibor go?

by time news

Former Maccabi and Hapoel Tel Aviv Nosa Igibor hasn’t played football in over 4 years. In fact, his last appearance was in Anorthosis in November 2018, but he never announced his retirement. So what has he been doing since then? After recovering from knee surgery 3 years ago, Igibor is concentrating on being a new father, and in the meantime is training personally, trying to get back to playing football.

“I saw that Aden Ben Best retired from football, I don’t understand why he did it”, Igibor opened his words when asked why he is not playing, “I have not retired, I will still play football even though it has been a long time”.

“Where do you find me? I’m in Nigeria, all day with my child. I’m a full-time father”, former Maccabi Tel Aviv. I still want to play football and I’m not ready to give it up.”

“I need to find motivation to play”, Igibor said, “I think the reason I delayed is that I still haven’t come to terms with the thought that I want to play, after I had surgery, I didn’t feel confident that I could play, now I do feel mature, but I won’t return immediately.”

Igibor is only 32 years old and can return to play when he claims he is fully fit: “Everything is in my head, every day agents talk to me and offer me to join teams, including Israel. My goal is to return in June after my child grows up and becomes more independent. I am sure I will have many offers , every day agents contact me. I won’t have a problem making an impression and presenting my ability and I’m sure they’ll sign me. Look at John Ugo, he didn’t play football for a long time and now he’s doing well in the second division in Israel. I have no problem playing in the second division, but I haven’t said my last word in football.”
