The body is no longer as valiant as it once was, but Odette Nilès, one of the last survivors of the Second World War still alive, is smiling. This Tuesday, December 27, her whole family was reunited at the Beausoleil residence in Drancy (Seine-Saint-Denis) where she lives to celebrate her 100th birthday. In a small committee so as not to tire her, but impossible for them not to be present to celebrate their “granny” of whom they are all proud, and to salute her life of struggles and commitments. “She’s the woman of my life”, blows the hand on her shoulder, Carine Picard-Nilès, her granddaughter and confidante.
