Islamabad: Pakistan Cricket Board has not decided whether to play in next year’s ODI World Cup in India. PCB Chairman Najam Sethi said that the decision should be taken by the Pakistan government. Responding to India’s stance of not going to Pakistan for the Asia Cup, former PCB chairman Rameez Raja said that India will host the Asia Cup.
It was announced that the ODI World Cup would be boycotted.

Najam Sethi, who came to the position after the dismissal of Rameez Raja, is softening Pakistan’s position. Najam Sethi says that the decision should be taken by the government and not by the cricket board. Najam Sethi also said that Pakistan’s efforts to host the next year’s Asia Cup are continuing. However, India wants a neutral venue for the Asia Cup.

There has been no series between the two countries since 2013. Pakistan last played India in the 2016 T20 World Cup. Earlier, various countries avoided coming to Pakistan due to security reasons, but recently England, Australia and New Zealand teams all came to Pakistan to play the series. With this, Pakistan is hoping to set the stage for the Asia Cup.

The spat between the two boards started when BCCI Secretary and Asian Cricket Council President Jai Shah announced in October that the Indian team would not travel to Pakistan for the Asia Cup and would move the tournament to a neutral venue. After this, the PCB came out with the threat of withdrawing the World Cup. India will host the ODI World Cup in October-November 2023.

The Asia Cup should be held right before this. Confusion over Asia Cup venue continues. “If we don’t host, we don’t have Asia Cup. Because we have been allotted the hosting of the Asia Cup. Dry if India does not come. “But if we don’t host, we will be the first team to withdraw from the tournament,” Rameez Raja said.
