Police Commissioner Rabbi Chief Yaakov Shabtai paid a condolence visit today (Thursday) to the family of Rabbi Chaim Meir Druckman zt’l, the leader of religious Zionism who passed away earlier this week.

The commissioner who arrived at the Shapira center accompanied by the commander of the southern district, Superintendent Peretz Amr, the commander of the Lakish region, sub-superintendent Barak Mordechai, and the chief of the police, Nt. The Commissioner is a person who knew how to bridge the currents and connect all ends of the people.

Commissioner: “The passing of Rabbi Druckman is a great loss for the people of Israel. Over the years in a number of command positions I held, I met the rabbi and what always set him apart was his ability to bring everyone together even in moments of crisis. Rabbi Druckman was an important educator and leader who raised generations of students, some of whom serve today and served in the past in the Israel Police and the Border Guard.”

Rabbi Druckman’s family thanked the commissioner for the work of the police at his funeral, which allowed many thousands to attend and pay his last respects.
