Sachi didn’t come to me because he was afraid that I would complain about it, he just walked away: Biju Menon

Actor Biju Menon said that when Ayyappan and Kosi were shooting the film, Sachi, who was the director, was drowning without seeing him. The actor says that he was worried about the climactic fight scenes, which were very realistic in the film, and Sachi used to walk in front of him on the shooting set, fearing that he would complain about its difficulties.

The actor was speaking in an interview given to Kanchanel Media.

“The tension I had with the movie Ayyappan and Koshy was the fight in it. I wondered what they meant by this. Raw fight is what they mean. Rajashekhar also fixed the master.

I almost knew this was going to be a raw fight. Then when the shoot started, it became completely clear (laughter).

But Sachi was afraid that I would say something or complain about the fight and was not giving me a grip. would not have come to me. He was running around and executing things with the fight master.

It was very strained. It’s a fight we did for seven days and it’s so raw. But it is also the fight that was so necessary for the story. The film has a quality of that,” said Biju Menon.

Biju Menon said in an interview that Sachi initially thought of Mammootty for the role of Ayyappan Nair, but the role was given to him because of the very realistic fight scenes that Mammootty did not have to strain.

“Sachi changed the option of Mammooka and came to the decision of ‘Mammooka wala naam mati’ after foreseeing the fight and action sequences in it.

The role comes to me thinking that it is not right to strain Mammooka so much,” added the actor.

Ayyappan and Koshi, which became a cult in Malayalam, is also the film that won Sachi the National Film Award for Best Director. Ayyappan and Koshy also won the National Award in the Best Supporting Actor, Singer and Sanghatanam categories.

The remake rights of the film, starring Prithviraj and Biju Menon in the title roles, were sold to other languages including Telugu. Ayappanum Koshi is also the last film scripted and directed by Sachi.
