At 2:47 a.m. a report was received at MDA’s 101 hotline in the Yarkon region about a fire in a four-story residential building on Histadrut Street in Petah Tikva.

MDA paramedic Alon Rizkan said: “When we arrived at the scene, we saw the injured man lying unconscious on the square of the building suffering from severe burns on his body. We performed medical tests, but he was without signs of life and we had no choice but to determine his death.”

The Petah Tikva Fire and Rescue Station reported that the firefighters were called to the scene following a report of an electric bicycle burning, and discovered the man’s body on the spot. “At the same time, the shift commander ordered the door to the apartment to be broken open. The firefighters identified two small areas of fire, and the teams worked to extinguish it quickly and search for additional casualties. The investigation of the incident was handed over to the Israel Police.”

The police said that Petah Tikva police officers along with fire and rescue personnel searched the deceased’s apartment. “Forensic investigators are examining the scene, along with transferring the deceased to the Institute of Forensic Medicine, for further examination of medical factors.”
