The new season of “Survival” just recently returned to Network 13 and one of the intriguing contestants, Alit Musayouf, the oldest survivor on the island, was interviewed by Iris Cole on 103FM and told about her anger following the treatment from the younger people on the island.

Musayouf opened by saying: “I thought I was the toughest in the world, because in my everyday life I’m a pretty strong person. My difficulty for being beyond my age is that I suddenly landed somewhere and you get a boom in the face. It’s not like it looks on TV. I compared what I experienced on the island to giving birth.” .

She further asserted indignantly: “Ageism is not only in survival. When I arrived, they labeled me as Mama, such a mother. ‘What comes to your mind?’ The woman who is a bit weak and raises children. When I got there, in my head I’m 20 years old, don’t label me because I’m 50 years old. At first I really didn’t feel it and that’s why I talked about age. The young people were in their own clique.”

Musayouf continued: “Maybe I’m a little difficult to digest, something in me comes out later, I don’t laugh right away, and they couldn’t eat me. It was very insulting, I felt a very strong loneliness. It’s a place far from home, you feel the loneliest in the world. You too You have to play the game, and I had no one to vent the difficulty to. I said that I’m not ready to give up, I have a family at home and people who believe in me so much, and that I won’t do this to myself. There was a moment when I said – ‘I want to go home, it’s not for me, you were right My husband initially told me to go for survival, then he said it was a bit difficult. I told him in response – I want to do something for me 100 percent, and he replied: ‘You’re right, go for it.'”

At the end she admitted: “This is the best experience besides the birth of my children, the best experience I’ve had in my life and also the hardest. I know that I’m a strong woman who doesn’t give up easily, goes with my heart. Maybe I’m a little naive, but I did it for me.”
