The French Football Federation (FFF) announces its next federal assembly for January 7 in Paris. An appointment during which the future of the coach of the Blues should be announced.
In a week, we should know if Didier Deschamps is back at the head of the Blues. The next federal assembly of the French Football Federation (FFF) will take place on January 7 in Paris, a meeting during which the extension of “DD” as coach of the France team could be validated.
According to a press release published Friday by the FFF, this federal assembly will be held in a hotel in the 17th arrondissement of Paris in the presence, in particular, “members of the executive committee of the FFF, of the High Football Authority, of the executive board of the Amateur Football League, of the presidents of Leagues, Districts, Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 clubs”.
If the agenda does not specifically mention the future of Deschamps at the head of the Blues, evoking rather “the activity and financial report of the FFF season 2021-2022 and the modifications of the federal texts”it is during the executive committee scheduled during this federal assembly that the president of the FFF Noël Le Graët should announce Deschamps’ decision on his future and have it validated.
A meeting at Guingamp on Thursday
Thursday, the two men met according to several media to discuss the future of Deschamps, who could extend his contract until Euro 2024. According to the Parisianthe meeting took place “in the offices of Noël Le Graët in Guingamp” and had as its object a possible extension of “la Dèche” at the head of the selection. Contacted by the ParisianNoël Le Graët confirmed the meeting but evaded on its content: “We talked about En avant Guingamp, that’s all!” Contacted by AFP, Le Graët had not confirmed, adding that he would not “no comments”.
Winner of the 2018 World Cup in Russia and finalist of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, Deschamps has retained all his credit with Le Graët. Before the Qatari competition, an objective would have been set for DD: he would be master of his destiny if the Blues reached the stage of the semi-finals. They did better and the Basque, for ten years on the tricolor bench, can therefore consider an extension. His passion seems intact and he could well turn to the next Euro in Germany, the only title missing from his list of coaches.
