Jaffna. Confusion continues regarding the selection of a new Chief Minister for the Municipal Council.

Manivannan’s opposition parties are busy trying to win any budget plan while many people are resisting to stay in Katirai for a few days as the new Chief Minister.

Meanwhile, Northern Province Local Government Commissioner C. Pranavanathan has said that the election of Chief Minister will not be held anymore.

Vishwalingam Manivannan Jaffna. Jaffna through a letter that he will resign from the post of Municipal Council Chief Minister from yesterday (31) night. He had informed the Municipal Commissioner and Local Government Commissioner.

Northern Province Local Government Commissioner S.Pranavanathan commented in this regard that according to the Municipal Council Ordinance, the mayor cannot be elected any more. I cannot decide on the dissolution of the council. Counsel will be sought in this regard. A similar situation is seen in the Eastern Province as well.

He explained that while the Local Government Commissioner of Eastern Province has sought advice from the Speaker, he has not yet received a response.

In this case, the final decision has gone to the Northern Governor.

However, Tamil Nadu on one side and EPDP on the other are busy trying to form a government.

However, in an environment where local councils can be dissolved at any time, many people are resisting the new chief minister.
