Production in key sectors increased by 5.4%- Dinamani

The total production of India’s 8 main manufacturing sectors namely coal, crude oil, natural gas, refined materials, fertilizers, steel, cement and electricity has grown by 5.4 percent in the month of November.

According to the central government statistics:

The overall output of the country’s 8 key infrastructure sectors increased by 5.4 per cent in November due to the strong performance of the coal, fertiliser, steel, cement and power sectors.

This was 3.2 percent in the same month last year. At the same time, overall production declined by 0.9 percent in October.

Crude oil, natural gas and refined products production in key sectors recorded negative growth in November last year.

In the first eight months of the current financial year, from April to November, output in eight key sectors fell by 8 per cent. It was 13.9 per cent in the same period last fiscal.

Compared to last year, coal production increased by 12.3 percent, fertilizer production by 6.4 percent, steel production by 10.8 percent, cement production by 28.6 percent, and electricity production by 12.1 percent.
