A soccer match between Maccabi Haifa and Hapoel Be’er Sheva took place this evening (Sunday) at the Sami Ofer Stadium. In the meantime, the police detained in the first half a 21-year-old Hapoel Be’er Sheva fan, a resident of Be’er Sheva, who lit a fire in the stands. The suspect was arrested and tomorrow the police will request his removal from the football fields for 180 days at the Haifa Magistrate’s Court.

At the beginning of the game, a Maccabi Haifa fan, a 35-year-old resident of Shomra, arrived at the entrance gate and tried to enter the field, even though he was removed from the stadium and detained on the spot for violating the exclusion. The police will request his removal from football fields for a period of 180 days.

The police said: “The Israel Police takes seriously those who violate public order during sports events and will continue to act in order to prevent these cases and bring the suspects to justice.”
