The strike of liberal doctors renewed for a week from this Monday

by time news

The liberal doctors are called to a new strike from this Monday and until January 8 by the collective “Doctors for tomorrow”, initiator of the movement just before Christmas.

“Unfortunately, the government did not deign to pay attention to us despite this first week of strike”, indicates the collective on its site, deploring to have been “unfairly lectured” by the Minister of Health. “It is with great regret and bitterness that we officially call for a second week of strike by liberal doctors in France, from January 2 to 8, 2023 inclusive”, indicate the protesters, who are demanding an increase in the consultation fee and improvement in their working conditions.

Demonstration Thursday in Paris

In addition, a demonstration is announced in Paris this Thursday, January 5, with a rally scheduled for 1 p.m. Place du Panthéon, for a march towards the Ministry of Health.

“Doctors for tomorrow”, an “apolitical and non-union” collective, comes from a Facebook group of some 16,000 practitioners, where around 60% of members declared themselves to be on strike last week. Born in September, it brings together liberals, including many young practitioners “already in great difficulty, who speak of burnout or a desire to retrain”, according to its spokesperson, Noëlle Cariclet, psychiatrist in Seine- et-Marne.
