Samantha and Malayalee actor Dev Mohan and Shakuntala have announced the release date of ‘Shakuntala’ with Dushyanthan. The film will hit the theaters on February 17. The release scheduled for November last year was postponed to bring Shakunthalam in 3D.
After ‘Rudrama Devi’, Gunasekara is writing and directing Shakunthalam. The film is based on the work ‘Abhignanasakunthalam’. The makers of the film had earlier clarified that the story is told from Shakuntala’s point of view, unlike the old myths. Dev Mohan is a notable actor with the film ‘Sufi Yum Sujatha’.
The film is produced by Neelima Guna and Dil Raju under the banner of Guna Teamworks and Dil Raju Productions. Other characters are Aditi Balan, Mohan Babu, Prakash Raj, Ananya Nahalle and Madhu Bala. Shakunthalam is also the film where Telugu star Allu Arjun’s daughter Allu Arha is making her acting debut. Arha arrives as Princess Bharata. The film is being made in Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages. PRO- Sabari.
