While Sembi, directed by Prabhu Salomon, has been released in theaters and won, the OTT rights of the film have been bought by a popular private television for a lot of crores.

Directed by director Prabhu Salomon, the film Sembi has been hitting the theaters. Kovai Sarala, who plays the role of a hill village girl in the film, has acted in many bold scenes. Kovai Sarala Partha Naam, who was acting in a comedy, in the film, her crying Thembi Thembi scene has left everyone in awe.

Kowai Sarala, who lives as a heroic grandmother who relies on the forest and the mountains, fights to get justice for the cruelty done to her granddaughter. Prabhu Salomon has made every scene of the film moving briskly as the two who decide to go to court, the problems that arise between them and the help of the people in the bus.

Actor Ashwin, Thambi Ramaiah and child star Nila, who played the role of Sempi in the film, also performed amazingly. The film was released on December 30 last year when Kamal Haasan praised Sembi on stage. Udhayanidhi’s Red Giant Movies has acquired the theatrical distribution rights of the film and released it.

While the film has collected up to 2.5 crores in three days of its release, before the release of the film, Zee Tamil Television had bought the satellite rights and Zee 5 had bought the OTT release rights. But after the successful release of the film in the theatres, a popular private television has bought the film through competition.

While Vijay TV has already acquired the satellite rights of director Prabhu Solomon’s films like Kayal, Kumki and Maina, the company has also acquired Sembu. And while the film is releasing on OTT in February, Disney Plus has bought the Hotstar OTT site.

Vijay TV has bought the film by paying almost 6 to 8 crores. Vijay TV has spent more crores on Sembi than Prabhu Salomon’s other films. It has also been reported that Vijay TV’s partner OTT company, Disney Plus Hotstar OTT site has been bought from Zee5 Corporation for several crores.
