Game of Thrones, The Sopranos, Chernobyl or Sex and the City : here are some of the series unavailable, since Monday 1is January, in the catalog of the Orange Cinema Series (OCS) package broadcast in France. According to the specialized media Numerama, a total of sixty-four series from the American channel HBO are now impossible to find in France, unless you go through a paid video on demand offer.
In question, the broadcasting contracts concluded between OCS and the American pay channel belonging to the Warner Bros Discovery group, which ended in 2022 and were not renewed. All HBO series older than two years have therefore left the OCS catalog. Newer series, such as the prequel to the series Game of Thrones, House of the Dragonor The White Lotusare not affected and remain accessible on the platform.
The end of the agreement between Warner Bros Discovery and OCS was scheduled to make way for the launch of the new HBO Max streaming service in France, recalls the Les Numériques site. However, this launch has been postponed to 2024. The series that have left the OCS programs therefore have no broadcaster in France for the moment.
