The veteran Israeli actor Sashon Gabbay has been cast in the third season of “Tehran”, it was first announced in Mako. After the great success of the series in Israel and around the world, here 11 and Apple TV Plus are now working on the new season and casting new actors.
Last year, Sasson Gabay won the Ophir Award for the film “Karaoke”, and this is the fourth time he has won the prestigious award. In the new and intriguing season, the actor will not play an Israeli character, but an Iranian one.

As you remember, the first season of the series unfolds the story of Tamar Rabinian, a Mossad agent who arrives in Tehran and tries to sabotage the Iranian nuclear program. There she meets a regime opponent and has a relationship with him.
In the second season, Tamar continues to work for the Mossad in Tehran together with her partner. Tamar meets a new agent, played by Hollywood actress Glenn Close, and tries to get closer to the Iranian government.
The series won the International Emmy Award, and was sold to Apple TV. Since the sale, details about the third season have been extremely secretive. The filming of the third season of Tehran is expected to take place in March, and some of it will take place in Greece, as in the second season of the series.
