Smotrich: Attorney Shlomi Heisler will be appointed to the position of Director General of the Ministry of Finance

Finance Minister Smotrich decided today (Wednesday) to appoint attorney Shlomi Heisler to the position of Director General of the Ministry of Finance.

On Smotrich’s behalf, it was stated: “Shlomi is a value-oriented, talented and intelligent manager who comes with extensive experience in government affairs and with a proven ability in leading complex processes that require the inclusion and harnessing of many factors. His background and in-depth understanding in the fields of real estate, planning and infrastructure will assist us in the accelerated promotion of reforms In the field of infrastructure, growth and housing are supported. I thank Shlomi for joining the task. We are starting work on building a responsible state budget that is biased toward growth and infrastructure, and with a lot of good news for the citizens of Israel, and attach to it a series of structural reforms in the economy to remove barriers, combat centralization, and promote competition and engines of growth. Heisler has a bachelor’s and master’s degree in law. He began his public service at the State Attorney’s Office in the Civil Department at the Jerusalem District Attorney’s Office and in the Fiscal Department at the State Attorney’s Office. Since then Heisler has gained a lot of experience in managing and leading complex horizontal processes. Heisler managed for six years the authority for registration and settlement of real estate rights at the Ministry of Justice, and led the online revolution in Tabu. For the past year and a half, Heisler served as the chairman of the National Planning Headquarters, and during his tenure a record was broken for the planning of housing units and infrastructure and significant legislation was introduced to shorten construction licensing procedures.

Heisler, a resident of Beit Shemesh, is married to Michal and the father of five, and he will assume his position after overlapping with the outgoing CEO, Ram Blanikov.
