Thiruvananthapuram: Goa is fighting against Kerala in the Ranji Trophy. Goa is 200 for 5 at the end of the second day against Kerala’s first innings score of 265 runs at St Xavier’s Ground in Thumpa. Goa need 66 more runs with five wickets remaining to overcome the hosts’ score.

Ishan Gadekar with 76 runs and Darshan Mishal with 37 runs are at the crease. Amog Desai (29) and Suyash S. Prabhudesai (three), Snehal Kauthankar (seven), SD Lad (35) and KD Eknath (six) were out. Sijomon Joseph took three wickets for Kerala while Jalaj Saxena and Vysakh Chandran took one each.

Resuming play on the second day at 247 for five, Kerala’s last five wickets were covered while adding 18 more runs. With this, Kerala’s first innings reached 265 runs. Rohan Prem, who returned to the team after the break, scored an unbeaten century to help Kerala.

He was unbeaten on 112 on Day 1 before returning to add runs on Day 2. Kerala lost the upper hand as others followed suit. While Lakshay Garg took four wickets for Goa, Sachin Tendulkar’s son Arjun Tendulkar took two wickets.
