Responding to Gayatri Raghuram’s allegation that women are not safe under Annamalai leadership in the BJP, Annamalai on Wednesday replied that many women are joining the National Party.
Talking about the resignation of actress Gayatri Raghuram from BJP, Tamil Nadu BJP president Annamalai said that he does not feel sorry for those who have left the party and wishes them well wherever they are.
Annamalai on Wednesday responded to Gayatri Raghuram’s accusation on Tuesday that there is no protection for women under Annamalai leadership in the BJP.
“I have no regrets if someone leaves the party. Let them have a good life,” Annamalai told reporters.
Journalists questioned Gayatri Raghuram’s allegation, often without any evidence against him, such accusations are published in some media. Gayatri said Raghuram’s accusation should also be taken in that light.
“Party quitters leave the party for some reason… You know I am strongly opposed to the (ruling) DMK. There are some internal problems (in the BJP) but I don’t want to discuss the connections of some people. Whatever a particular medium says about me, my answer is silence. People will watch and decide. The same is true for those who left the party. I wish them well wherever they go,” said Annamalai.
Gayatri Raghuram, who announced her resignation from the BJP on Tuesday, said that she decided to quit the BJP because of the lack of women’s welcome, equal rights and respect for women. “There is no safety for women under the leadership of Annamalai. Feels good to be trolled as an outsider,” tweeted Gayatri Raghuram.
A few days before Gayatri Raghuram was expelled from the party post and suspended from the BJP, BJP Sports and Skill Development Wing President Amar Prasad Reddy, Gayatri Raghuram DMK President and Chief Minister M K Stalin Accusing him of meeting a family member, he angrily said, “There is no place for traitors.” However, Raghuram replied that it was his friend’s birthday party and he did not know who was invited there.
