In this context, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak addressed the priorities of the government for this year. At that time, he promised to take steps to halve inflation in the country, improve the economy and stop illegal immigration.
He pledged to reduce the national debt, introduce new laws to stop migrants arriving on Britain’s shores in small boats and to reduce the backlog in Britain’s public health service.
Inflation in Britain was 10.7 percent last November. This is slightly lower than in October. But inflation remains at a 40-year high. In response to Russia’s war on Ukraine, the cost of fuel and food has risen in Britain. As a result, the standard of living of many lakhs of people has declined.
