How the comic “The Endless World” was the victim of a conspiracy in bookstores

by time news

This is undoubtedly a first in the history of comics, perhaps even of publishing. A few days before Christmas, dozens of booksellers, all over France, were asked to insert an erratum, a document intended to point out errors in a book, in one of the flagship books of the year, “Le Monde sans fin”, on the climate and the energy crisis, media engineer Jean-Marc Jancovici and cartoonist Christophe Blain. The text was signed by the “Dargaud Environment Commission”, publisher of this phenomenally successful album, ranked best-selling book in France in 2022 with 514,000 copies sold. Only here: in this story, everything was false, including this smoky commission.
