Dr. Saravanan, who left the BJP, joined the AIADMK in the presence of Edappadi Palaniswami. Saravanan has joined AIADMK as the 4th party after leaving Madhyamik, DMK and BJP. Dr. Saravanan is one of the prominent political figures in Madurai district. While Dr. Saravanan was active in the BJP, he left the BJP after the shoe was thrown on the car of Finance Minister PDR Palanivel Thiagarajan. Letchumanan, who died in Kashmir in 2022, was laid to rest in his hometown Madurai. When Finance Minister Palanivel Thiagarajan came to pay tribute to Letshumanan, BJP members threw shoes at his car.
Dr. Saravanan met Minister Palanivel Thiagarajan regarding the incident and apologized and announced his resignation from the BJP that night. Dr Saravanan was expected to rejoin DMK after his exit from the BJP caused a stir. But Dr. Saranavan met Edappadi Palaniswami in Chennai today and joined the AIADMK in his presence.
Dr. Saravanan left DMK in 2015 and later joined DMK in 2016 and became an MLA. After that in 2021 he left DMK and joined BJP as he did not get a seat in the party. After joining the BJP in 2021, he left the party within a year and has now joined the AIADMK.
