Turkish President Erdogan spoke earlier today (Thursday) with Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to a statement from the office of the Turkish president, it appears that Erdogan demanded from Putin to lay down the fire in Ukraine.

According to Ankara, in the conversation between the two leaders, Erdogan called on Putin to lead a unilateral ceasefire, as part of Erdogan’s attempt to preserve himself and Turkey in the status of the mediator state.

As of today, both sides are reluctant to come to the negotiating table, in Ukraine they demand a full withdrawal of the Russian forces from the territories of Ukraine as a threshold condition for the start of negotiations.

United States President Joe Biden said that the possibility of supplying armored cars to Ukraine is on the table – this in the shadow of President Zelensky’s calls to increase aid to Ukraine ahead of a year of the Russian invasion of its territory.

The aid will follow President Biden’s announcement during Zelenskiy’s visit to supply Patriot missiles to Ukraine. Due to the present the United States still refuses to transfer the M1 tanks despite the Ukrainian request.

Yesterday French President Macron announced that he would hand over some French tanks to Ukraine as part of an aid package to the country that has been at war for ten months.
