The Kerala Administrative Tribunal canceled the appointment of principals of Thiruvananthapuram, Thrissur and Ernakulam Law Colleges. The action is based on the finding that the Act was not implemented in accordance with the UGC norms. The tribunal also directed to form a selection committee and find new principals. The order was passed on the petition of Ernakulam Law College teacher Dr. SS Giridhar who questioned the appointments. Dr. Biju Kumar of Thiruvananthapuram Law College, Dr. Bindu M. Nambiar of Ernakulam Law College, Dr. VR of Thrissur Law College. Jayadevan as principals were canceled by KAT. The Tribunal found that the appointment was made without constituting a selection committee as per the UGC norms of 2018.
