Chetan Sharma re-elected as BCCI selectors chairman

The BCCI disbanded the Chetan Sharma-led selection committee last November following the Indian cricket team’s defeat in the T20 World Cup and heavy criticism. Then the process of forming a new selection committee for the Indian cricket team began. Applications for this were received and interviews were conducted.

In this case, Chetan Sharma has been re-elected and appointed as the chairman of the BCCI Selection Committee. Shiv Sundar Das, Subrato Banerjee, Salil Angola and Sreedharan Sarath have been selected as selection committee members.

Harvinder Singh had also applied for the selection board. His name was not considered after the interview.

In this regard, BCCI Secretary Jai Shah said in a statement, “Following the advertisement for 5 posts on the official website of BCCI on November 18, 2022, around 600 applications were received. After careful consideration of the applications, the Advisory Committee shortlisted 11 persons for personal interviews. Based on the interviews, the Advisory Committee shortlisted the candidates for the Selection Committee. has recommended,” he said.
