Paris – After days of protests, some of which were violent, on the French Caribbean island of Guadeloupe, the government in Paris is ready to start talks about autonomy for the overseas territory. “The government is ready to talk about it,” said the overseas minister Sébastien Lecornu. “There are no bad discussions, as long as these discussions serve to solve the real everyday problems of the people of Guadeloupe.”
