Strike at Inditex during sales with “high participation”, according to CGT

The concentration held this morning in Madrid’s Calle Preciados, one of the main commercial arteries of the capital, brought together “vseveral hundreds” of workersas a CGT spokesperson has assured EFE, who have joined protests in other Spanish cities such as Seville, Barcelona or Logroño.

Likewise, the union assures that the monitoring of the strike has caused the closure of around eight stores, all of them in the capital.

In this sense, denounce that the company has violated the right to workers strike by reinforcing shifts, so they intend to file a complaint against the group.

Equate the salary increase

CGT, a minority within Inditex, claims to equalize in all the autonomous communities and provinces the agreed salary increase recently with the social representation in A Coruña.

On December 22, an agreement was reached whereby the group of Inditex store staff, which are between 1,500 and 1,600 people in the province of A Coruña, will have a monthly increase in salary bonuses: 322 euros during the first year , 362 euros during the second and 382 euros thereafter.

These increases in 15 monthly payments translate into about 5,700 euros per year.

CGT also claims a salary increase of 250 euros per month for workers with days of less than 15 hours, payment on Sundays under the same conditions as holidays and the equalization of social aid received by logistics, factories and power stations. the company.

The majority unions in Inditex, CCOO and UGT, with the support of more than 90% of the workforce, they have not joined this call.

This same week, both unions announced that on January 25 they would begin talks with the company to address wage-related measures that offset the impact of inflation on the salaries of their workers.
