Delhi: Vision 2047 has been presented for the comprehensive development of Indian football. All India Football Federation President Kalyan Chaubey and General Secretary Shaji Prabhakaran presented the roadmap. A comprehensive plan is being developed in six categories divided into 11 focus areas. By 2047, the aim is to make the Indian men’s and women’s teams one of the top 4 teams in Asia.
By 2026, the aim is to bring the men’s team to the top ten and the women’s team to the top eight in Asia. Equal pay for women players and incentives for women’s football clubs. Officials also informed that the goal is to prepare 65000 maidans, 50 maidans each in all the districts of the country.
Earlier, the football fans of the country were deeply disappointed when India announced that it will not host the 2027 Asian Cup football. Along with India, which has been the venue for the 2017 U-17 World Cup, Saudi Arabia was on the scene to prepare the venue for the Asian Cup. India has never hosted the Asia Cup. Therefore, the fans were waiting with great anticipation.
The All India Football Federation had clarified the reason for India’s withdrawal at that time. Vision 2047 is the perfect answer to that. The federation said at that time that it is not a priority at this stage to host big-ticket events. Instead, the aim is to take action at the grass root level to further strengthen the football sector in the country.
The AIFF has clarified that it is trying to build the foundation of a proper football structure before hosting big events like the Asian Cup. Kalyan Choubey then emphasized that the current plan is to focus on strengthening football at all levels, from the grassroots to mentoring young footballers. Now with the announcement of Vision 2047, Indian football fans are in high hopes.
