46th Chennai Book Fair Holiday Crowd: Readers throng to buy books

CHENNAI: The 46th Chennai Book Fair saw a throng of people as readers thronged to buy books on a holiday on Sunday. A book fair is organized annually in Chennai by the South Indian Booksellers and Publishers Association. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin inaugurated the 46th Chennai Book Fair at Nandanam YMCA ground in Chennai. The book fair which started on 6th will continue till 22nd. And for the first time in India, an international book fair will be held on January 16, 17 and 18 on behalf of the Tamil Nadu government.

In this, Tamil Nadu Government has signed MoUs with various foreign publishing houses. This will give Tamil works a great opportunity to reach the whole world. In this situation, Sunday being a holiday, more and more people flocked to the book fair to buy books.
Especially children, teenagers and old people visited the book fair. Government officers and officials also came in large numbers. The children eagerly bought the books in the halls specially set up for them.

Books by Tamil writers who could not participate in previous years due to Corona, books by migrant writers have been included this year.
In this book display, Dhinakaran-Suryan Publishing House is located at F-8. Books such as Karna’s Armor, Thalapurana, Talking Pictures, Marutham Meedbom, You Are A Doctor, Gynecology, Life Path are sold in this arena.

Apart from these, readers like to buy colorful books including books for students, books on medicine, short stories for women, cookbooks, books related to spirituality. Public is allowed daily from 11 am to 8.30 pm. Organizers have said that students from schools are going to visit the book fair from Monday.
