Mercedes-Benz, the leader in the sale of luxury cars, said on Friday (Jan. 6) that it will introduce 10 new models in the current year (2023).
In this regard, Santosh Iyer, Managing Director and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India said, “The plan for 2023 is to expand the luxury brand’s customer base to the high-end segment.”

According to Santosh, the first Indian to head the German luxury carmaker’s Indian operations, “the profile of buyers of Mercedes cars in India has changed with the average age of buyers of the S-Class.”
Santosh also said, “More and more women across the country are looking to buy Mercedes cars, and new salaried employees and professionals are emerging as car buyers.”

Meanwhile, Mercedes-Benz India recorded its highest ever sales in a calendar year in India.
It has retained the top spot in the country’s luxury car segment for the eighth consecutive year. The company sold 15,822 cars in CY 2022, registering a year-on-year sales growth of 41% over CY 2021 sales.

He also said that many Mercedes customers were waiting 9-12 months for their cars to be delivered and the company wants to reduce this waiting period to 2 or 3 months.

Earlier, the company rolled out its 150,000th India-made Mercedes from the Sagan plant in Pune on January 2.
Meanwhile, the company is planning to launch 10 new cars this year. It is known that the price of these cars can be fixed between Rs.1 crore and Rs.30 lakh.
