Completing 62 years in the Malayalam film world, Dr. KJ Yesudas started his amazing music career in 1961 by singing playback for the film Kalpapadal. Yesudas was born on January 10, 1940 in Fort Kochi. Yesudas was born to Augustine Joseph Bhagavatar and Elizabeth who was a famous musician and theater actor. Yesudas was the second of seven children of this couple.

Yesudas has sung in all major languages except Assamese, Kashmiri and Konkani. The country has honored Yesudas with Padma Vibhushan in 2017, Padma Bhushan in 2002 and Padma Shri in 1973.
