The story in this issue, the fourth of the number, is particularly complex – the Joker wants to provide himself with an heir and for this purpose he is courting the superheroine Zatanna, who is an extremely powerful witch. She rejects him and casts a spell on him, so that no one can bear him offspring.

The curse goes wrong and the next day the Joker wakes up to find himself nine months pregnant. His doctor comes to his house, another comic book villain, but at least he has a medical education – Doctor Phosphorus, who does a pelvic exam. At birth, the Joker actually vomits a brown substance that crystallizes into an offspring in the form of a mini-Joker.
