An 8-year-old ultra-Orthodox boy, a pedestrian, was seriously injured by a motorcycle this evening (Tuesday), while walking on Abarbanal Street in Bnei Brak.

Rescuers who were called to the scene at 18:00, gave the boy first aid, after which he was taken to the Belinson Medical Center in Petah Tikva, in serious condition, with a head injury.

Mandy Miller and Yossi David, rescue union medics: “According to passers-by, the boy was hit by a motorcycle and was seriously injured as a result. We gave him first aid. After that, he was taken to the Belinson Medical Center suffering from bruises and head injuries.”

The police spokeswoman said: A short time ago, a police motorcycle rider who was on his way to an operational event, hit an 8-year-old boy at 73 Abarbanel St. in Bnei Brak at a crossing. Traffic examiners are on the spot and the circumstances are being investigated.

Four hours earlier, a 6-year-old ultra-Orthodox boy was injured in a car accident in the heart of the 7th district in Ashdod.

The rescue forces who were called to the scene on Rashbi Street, provided first aid to the child, a pedestrian, after which he was taken to the ‘Assuta’ hospital in critical condition.

MDA-Hezla Darom drivers, Elad Sofer and Uriel Lesri, said: “When we arrived at the scene, we noticed a 6-year-old boy who had been hit by a private vehicle. With the help of MDA medics and paramedics, we gave him life-saving medical treatment, and he was taken to the MDA intensive care unit for further treatment at Assuta Medical Center in the city, in serious condition, with head and limb injuries.”

Meir Seidorf, director of the volunteer division, and Ari Klein, a medic from the Rescue Union, said: “This is an accident involving a private vehicle and a pedestrian. We provided first aid at the scene of the accident to a 10-year-old boy who was moderately to severely injured, after which he was taken to Assuta Hospital with head and limb injuries.”

At the Asuta hospital, the doctors stabilized his condition.
